Junior Trojans Basketball registration is now open. This is a six session basketball clinic for grades 1 thru 4. We will concentrate on fundamentals and fun. Grades 1 and 2 will be on Mondays starting Sept. 14 and grades 3 and 4 will be on Thursdays starting Sept. 10th for six weeks.   Please use the registration link below to register.   Go Trojans!

*The Back to School Packet is coming home today. Please read it as I will be reviewing it tomorrow evening. Also coming home is information for Accelerated Reading (AR) Renaissance Place. Please read over it and keep this in a safe place.

Math - Please complete pages 1+2 and hand in tomorrow. The Home-School Connection letter for Topic 1, Fluently Add and Subtract Within 20, is coming home. Also, the My Word Cards coming home should be cut up and kept at home to review during Topic 1.

Hello Second Grade Parents! 

 

Welcome to 2nd Grade!  The air conditioner works well so our classroom does get chilly for some students.  If you’d like, send your child to school with a navy or forest green fleece/sweater/sweatshirt with the SJS logo. Other sweaters/ sweatshirts may not be worn. Please refer to the office email or school blog regarding the uniform policy. Feel free to leave at school or keep it in your backpack. Please label all clothing. If you haven’t turned in all the supplies, please send them in at your earliest convenience.  

 

*If you brought in wireless headphones without the charging cord, please bring in the  cord. If you still need to bring in wireless headphones, please bring the charging cord in with it. You may also purchase the headphones through the office, please tell them you are purchasing the wireless 2nd grade headphones. 

 

Second grade will dismiss the students from door 8.  If you have more than one child at St. Juliana, you may want to take advantage of our Sibling Meet Up.  At the end of the day, siblings will meet each other in the room across from the office and be dismissed out of door 1 together.  Please let us know if you are interested in this option so that we can have your child dismissed from the correct door.  

 

Please fill out and return any necessary forms that went home today.  A copy of the Specials schedule also went home. Room 31 has PE on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Please dress in P.E. uniform on those days.

*Tomorrow we have Mass at 9:30.  Wear Spirit Wear and we will be dismissed from school after Mass. Bring your Backpack for your Report Card and any left over items.

End of Second Grade Poem 

The year is coming to an end, I can’t believe it’s true.

Before you know it, you’ll be moving onto somewhere new.

It seems like only yesterday you entered 2nd grade.

Think of all the fun we’ve had, and all the progress you’ve made.

We’ve studied things like phonics, math, reading, and writing.

We also learned to do our best and to solve disagreements without fighting.

We played at recess on the swings, the monkey bars, or slide.

We hoped we wouldn’t misbehave and have to sit out on the side.

We’ve grown as learners, and as friends, but now it’s time to go.

Before you leave, there’s something important I’d like for you to know.

You came in and touched my heart in a very special way.

Although you move on, I hope you know that in my heart you’ll stay!

Just wanted to give a gentle reminder that when we come back on Tuesday, May 26, Room 31 will need to be in their P.E. uniforms. 

 

Thursday, May 28th Room 31 will dress in Spirit Wear (from our Pop Tops Certificate).

 

Friday is also an all school Spirit Wear day since it is the last day of the month. 

 

Next week, our class will be reading the prayer and pledge to the school during our morning announcments.  I handed out the papers last week to the students to practice at home.  The students should bring their paper to school with them and go to the office by 8:05 on their assigned day.  I will have an extra copy in the office and one in my classroom if anyone should forget.

Religion - Chapter 11 test tomorrow. Study the highlighted parts, Chapter Review, and take the pretest. You will be asked to write about a way you can help others in loving service (Works of Mercy), as Jesus did. Please bring your book back tomorrow.
